From ‘bungalow blitz’  to ‘eco-house’ -An unprepossessing mid-1990’s pattern-book house was re-planned, made air-tight, highly insulated, fitted with a Kachelofen, solar panels and a heat-exchanging ventilation system.  A very high energy rating was acheived.  A piece of countryside was relieved of unsustainable development and poor design.
